7.2. Installing and putting the smoke
alarm into service
NOTE: The fastening materials supplied are only suitable
for concrete ceilings. If other substrates apply, the requisite
fastening materials must be obtained from an appropriate retail
outlet.
NOTE: An alarm can only be silenced by removing the
battery from the battery clip (see section 12).
The smoke alarm is powered by a battery and needs no other
power supply.

1 Secure the
mounting
plate

Description
Mark out the drill holes with a pencil, using
the mounting plate as a template.
DANGER: When drilling and
installing screws, take care not to damage
any electrical cables or gas or water
pipes. This could lead to severe injuries.
Drill two screw holes in the substrate and
install suitable plugs. Secure the
mounting plate to the substrate with
suitable screws.
