d. When drilling hold on the handle at the right side of the head frame and press
downward.
8. MAINTENANCE
Regular maintenance increases the life of your drill press.
After using the machine you have to clean it completely and lubricate all sliding
and moving parts.
Table adjustments:
a. To adjust table up or down, loosen clamp bolt
A). Then turn crank handle (B) to desired
height. Retighten clamp bolt (A) before drilling
operations.
b. To swing table 360° loosen clamp bolt (A) then
swing table to appropriate position, re-tighten
clamp bolt. For long work pieces swing table
180° and use the base as your table.
c. To tilt table loosen work table nuts (C), tilt to
desired angle and re-tighten nuts.
Spindle adjustments:
Workpiece method (Fig. 19, 20) recommended for drilling a specific depth which
can be marked on the side of the workpiece.
1. Mark the depth of the hole on the side of the workpiece (1).
2. Turn off the drill press, bring down the drill bit (2) until the tip is even with the
mark.
3. Hold the feed handle and spin the lower nut (3) down to contact the depth stop
lug (6) on the head.
4. Spin the upper nut (5) down and tighten against the lower nut (3).
5. Release the feed handle and now the drill bit will be stopped
after travelling downward the distance marked.
Depth scale method (Fig. 20) recommended for drilling a known depth hole.
1. Turn off the drill press, turn feed handle until the depth stop (6) points to the
desired depth on the depth scale (4). Hold the feed handles in that position.
2. Spin the lower stop nut (3) down to contact the depth stop (6).
3. Spin the upper stop nut (5) against the lower stop nut (3)and tighten.
4. The drill bit will not stop after traveling the distance on the depth scale.
