HM710 MOCHA MAKER
NOTES ON THE POWER CORD
The appliance is supplied with a short lead to minimise the risk of injury due to a long
or tangled lead (danger of tripping).
If an extension cable is used this must be designed for a rated voltage corresponding
to at least that of the mocha maker. Further, care must be taken that the extension
cable is not allowed to hang down from work or table surfaces, and that no one can
trip over it.
N.B.: This appliance is earthed. The extension cable must be 3-poled and earthed.
Contact a qualified electrician, if the mains plug is not suitable for the mains socket.
Never try to change the plug yourself!
USING YOUR MOCHA MAKER
1.
Clean all parts of the mocha maker before using it for the first time (see "Cleaning
and Care" section).
2.
Remove the upper half of the pot and the coffee funnel and fill the lower half of
the pot with water (3 dl). N.B. Never fill with more than 3 dl water as the safety
valve must not be under water.
3.
Fit the coffee funnel into the lower half of the pot and add the ground coffee.
Do not press the coffee down to firmly. (We recommend using a special mocha
blend).
The following table serves as a guide to how much coffee to use. The amount of
coffee will vary according to the tape of coffee and personal taste.

4.
Screw the upper and lower halves of the pot together. When screwed together,
place the mocha maker on the base unit. Connect the base unit to a standard
domestic socket (230 V~) and press the operating switch. After a few minutes
the coffee will rise into the upper half of the pot.
5.
Unplug the unit, lift the lid and pour your coffee.
N.B.: Always let the mocha pot cool down before making more coffee.
Important: The lid of the pot must be closed when you are making coffee.
N.B.: The outside of the pot can get very hot. Always allow the hot surfaces to cool
down.
Suggestion: To prevent any coffee grounds working up into the upper half of the pot,
a circular piece of damp paper or a round piece of filter paper can be placed on the
filter plate. This means the coffee is filtered once more.
