MAINTENANCE
- It is essential that the maintenance of the product is carried out by a qualified and authorized
technician.
- Before any maintenance work, turn the product off, and disconnect it from the mains to avoid
electrical shock or other hazards resulting from mishandling. Voltages and intensities are high and
dangerous inside the product. Make sure the product is unplugged from the electrical supply before
removing the top metal case.
- Meticulous inspections carried out at regular intervals of time are necessary in order to prevent the
device to stop working.
- It is necessary to perform preventive maintenance on a regular basis, removing dust inside the
product. RHD recom- mends removing the metal case 2 or 3 times a year to remove any excess dust.
Take this opportunity to have the elec- trical connections checked by a qualified person with an
insulated tool.
- Perform regular visual inspection controls in order to check that the grills of the metal case are not
obstructed.
- Regularly check the condition of the power supply cord. If damaged, it will need to be replaced by
the manufacturer, its' after sales service or a qualified person.
SAFETY FEATURES
- The product is PROTEC 400, i.e. it is protected against surges of current on the electrical network,
and also against accidental connection to a 400V electrical supply.
- The HOT INDUCTION HEATER is connected to the earth. The output of the product is isolated
by an insulation transformer.
- When the HOT INDUCTION HEATER is frequently used, the inductors, the cables, the
electronics and the power transformer inside become warm. In order to prevent any malfunction in
case of overheating, the product is constantly cooled by a fan. The temperature is controlled by a
thermocouple, and the heating is stopped in case of overheating.
- The inductors are insulated in order to protect the user from possible electrical shock.
- The HOT INDUCTION HEATERis safety designed against accidental heating. If the heating
command is wrongly pressed (pressing on the pneumatic pedal or on the button switch on the glass
inductor), and if the inductor is not close to a piece of metal to heat within a period of 1 minute, then
the product automatically stops. Release the heating command in order to start again the heating.
ELECTRICAL SUPPLY
Single phase electrical supply.
- Electrical voltage supply: from 85V to 265V, WITH earth.
- Below 230V: 16A protection recommended (10A minimum).
- Electrical supply frequency: 50 or 60 Hz.
In normal use, in 110V, in Auto mode, the intensity does not go higher than
15A, whatever the inductor in use. Only with the glass inductor, in manual
mode, on a thick sheet or steel block , with settings superior to 60% and when in
contact, will the intensity go higher than15A.
In this event, switch to two phase. At 208V, Imax<13A.
Check that the electrical power supply and its protections (fuses and/or circuit breaker) are
compatible with the requested current during use. The product is protected also for use with
generators.
