Before Lighting:
1.The firepit should be thoroughly inspected before each use, and by a qualified service person at
least annually. If relighting a hot fireit, always wait at least 5 minutes.
2.Inspect the hose assembly for evidence of excessive abrasion, cuts, or wear. Suspected
areas should be leak tested. If the hose leaks, it must be replaced prior to the operation.
Only use the replacement hose assembly specified by the manufacturer. The burner must be
replaced prior to the appliance being put into operations if it is evident that the burner is
damaged. The replacement burner should be specified by the manufacturer.
LIGHTING:
1. Remove the cover before lighting.
2. Control knob must be in the "OFF" position.
3. Connect and open propane cylinder (see manual).
4. Push and turn the control knob counter clockwise to "LOW".
5. Press the igniter button repeatedly to light burner.
6. Press and hold control knob for 45 seconds after the flame is lighted.
7. If ignition does NOT immediately take place in seconds, push and turn the control
knob
clockwise to "OFF". Fan with newspaper or magazine to ensure there is no propane gas in
the fire bowl and inside the body. Wait 5 minutes, then repeat the lighting procedure as above.
8. Adjust flame to desired height with the control knob.
CAUTION: The gas supply must be turned off at the LP gas supply cylinder when this
appliance is not in use.
Leak Check
WARNING
• Perform all leak tests outdoors.
• Extinguish all open flames.
• NEVER leak test when smoking.
• Do not use the firepit until all connections have
been leak tested and do not leak.
1. Make 2 to 3 oz. of leak check solution (one part liquid dishwashing detergent and three parts water).
2. Apply several drops of solution where the hose attaches to the regulator.
3. Apply several drops of solution where the regulator connects to the cylinder.
4. Make sure all firepit and light valves are OFF.
5. Turn the cylinder valve ON.
If bubbles appear at any connection, there is a leak.
1. Turn the cylinder valve OFF.
2. If the leak is at the hose/regulator connection: tighten the connection and perform another leak test.
If bubbles
continue to appear, the hose should be returned to the place of purchase.
3. If the leak is at the regulator/cylinder valve connection: disconnect, reconnect, and perform another leak
check. If you continue to see bubbles after several attempts, the cylinder valve is defective and should be
returned to the cylinder's place of purchase.
If NO bubbles appear at any connection, the connections are secure.
NOTE: Whenever the gas connections are loosened or removed, you must perform a complete leak test.
Complete installation.
