6. Troubleshooting:
If after long periods of use the ROBBY G3 should fail to work, please check
the following points:
The turning knob (5) does not turn!
l
If it still can be turned manually, then refer to section 7 «Hints».
l
If unable to turn manually, then the Robby G3 is broken.
The turning knob (5) turns, but the Robby G3 does not run!
l
Check for the correct interlocking position of the cogwheel at the
driving wheel unit (8). It can be replaced by loosening the nut (M5).
If Robby's movements are restricted to one of: circles, arcs or straight.
l
The Robby G3 has to be repaired.
7. Hints:
To ensure efficient cleaning, the minimal suction-capacity of the pump
should be18 gal/min which is equal to 2 turns per second at the turning
knob (5). If this requirement is not fulfilled, the following points should be
checked:
l
Have the drain and other parallel tubes to the filter-pump been closed
properly?
l
Has the filter of the swimming-pool been flushed clean?
l
Is the small basket of the pump's pre-filter clean?
l
Has Robby's large pre-filter (10) been cleaned?
(Compare section 4 «After cleaning»).
l
Is the suction-hose water-tight? (Check for leaks!)
Possible check of the tubes:
While closing the suction-plug by hand or by a tennis-ball for a short time,
no water must flow into the pool through the jet-streams. If there is some
water flowing, then there must be some parallel tubes open.
8. Service:
Apart the cleaning the pre-filter (10), the Robby G3 needs no maintenan-
ce. If the ROBBY G3 is broken, please contact your swimming-pool retailer
or the ROBBY service centre in your country.
Attention:
Keep the original Robby G3 box for transporting purposes! To prevent
damage, the Robby G3 will only be returned from service centres in
original boxes. In cases, where the original box is not provided by the
customer, the cost of a replacement will be incurred.
5. Warranty limitations:
ROBBY G3 has not been constructed to run permanently.
After 3000 to 4000 working-hours, the gear mechanism
should be serviced. With customers who use the Robby G3
continuously, shorter intervals between services may be
taken into consideration. The warranty is limited to 3000
working hours.
Attention:
In swimming-pools with vinyl-lining of 0.020-0.024 inches, the
Robby's slide clutch has to be adjusted to the lowest positi-
on 1. Failure to do so could result in the formation of folds at
the pool edges at high temperatures. Any claims for such
swimming-pool damages are void.
