For workpiece thicknesses above 25 mm a
second routing groove/biscuit is required.
Marking the Groove Placement
The grooves are usually spaced between 10 and
15 cm apart. The centre of the first groove should
be located approx. 4 - 6 cm away from the outer
edge of the workpiece. The height of the groove
should be centred to the workpiece. For narrow
workpieces, the grooves can be routed directly on
the carrier, the stop or the base plate, using the
marks 7.
Routing Procedure
Keep your hands away from the cutting area
and the cutting disc. Hold the auxiliary han-
dle with your second hand.
When both hands hold the machine, they
cannot beinjured by the cutting disc.
Apply the machine to the workpiece only
when switched on.
Otherwise there is danger of kickback when
the cutting tool jams in the workpiece.
Before beginning to work, check for proper
seating of the protective guard
FDF-EN / 0802
Firmly hold the machine with both hands by the
handle 4 and the motor housing 3.
Switch the machine on and guide it toward the
workpiece. Pay attention that the applied pressure
is uniform. Less pressure increases the working
performance and makes the machine and the
routing tools last longer.
Switch the machine off after the work cycle and
wait until the motor unit has returned to the start-
ing position.
Routing Longitudinal Grooves
Depending on the desired groove width, special
routing blades must be used when routing longitu-
dinal grooves.
For this, the slip protectors 9 must be deactivated.
Observe routing direction!
The feed motion of the router must always be car-
ried out against the rotation direction of the router
blade (see direction-of-rotation arrow on the
machine). Otherwise, the router can break loose,
eliminating control by the user.
Routing Resin Galls
Resin galls can be routed when using special rout-
8.
ing tools.
With such a routing tool, the slot width in the base
plate 26 must first be extended to the maximum
depth.
Use router blades size 100 x 8.1 mm.
Before switching on, check if the automatic
resetting feature of the motor unit operates
properly: Press the machine with the base
plate against a firm surface (e. g. a table
edge) until the routing blade becomes visi-
ble. When releasing the pressure, the routing
blade must be retracted all the way again.
Make sure that both slip protectors 9 are
completely turned out.
