Second step: Adjust the FMS software and the controller.
1. Plug the USB connector from the SimTransmitter into a free USB port of your computer then start the FMS Simulation program.
2. Open under "Controls" the menu point "Analog control".
3. Now choose in the list "Joystick interface" and click on "Mapping Calibration".
4. Click "Calibrate" and move around/circle all sticks of your SimTransmitter several times as far as they will go. Click "Next".
Center all sticks and click on "Finish". Your SimTransmitter is now calibrated.
5. Move all sticks of your SimTransmitter and note which stick has which number. You can notice this on the blue bars.
6. Type into the left orientated note fields, with the steering function, the number of the stick axle you want to steer with e.g. axle
(2) for the elevator, if this stick/axle shall work as the elevator. For the helicopter functions you can do it the same way.
7. Test now all functions inside the simulation and correct if necessary, the directions with the checkboxes "Inv". You have also the
possibility to create an exponential steering curve by activating the checkboxes "Exp". This is useful on fast and sensitive models,
because at the beginning of the stick movement you will get smaller control movements. At the end click on both dialog windows
"OK" to finish the adjusting and your SimTransmitter is now ready for enjoying the world of RC models.
FMS under Microsoft Vista
Because Microsoft Vista doesn't fully support OpenGL you must install a so called "virtual machine" to run the FMS simulator under
Vista. We provide a DVD "Virtual Machine", the following steps will show you how to install such a virtual machine:
1. Copy the folder "Windows 2000 Pro" into the root directory of your computer, normally "C:\".
2. Double click on the VM-Ware icon to install the VM-Ware Player and follow the instructions.
3. After the installation of the VM-Players open the Player. Then click on the symbol "Open".
4. Now change to the folder what you have copied before into the root directory and open then "Windows 2000 Profesional.vmx".
Now Windows 2000 is starting inside a virtual machine on your computer.
5. After Windows 2000 has started you must connect the SimTransmitter with the "Guest-Operating System". If this, after connecting
the SimTransmitter", does not start automatically you must do it manually. To do this, click inside the menu of the VM-Player on
symbol ">>" and connect the SimTransmitter device. Now you are able to calibrate the SimTransmitter normally under "Control
Center/Game Controller" - see instruction SimTransmitter. Tip: Double click the menu of the VM-Player and the virtual machine
will change to full screen.
6. The FMS was already preinstalled and you can setup the FMS to your wishes.
