Unit Switch
The power converter can be switched on via the
unit switch to the left of the shockproof electric
socket. If no AC consumers are being run off the
unit, then the power converter is best switched off

Wiring
- Caution: Take care to pole correctly! Follow the safety instructions!
The wiring and fuse protection of the system must
be carried out in accordance with the regulations
on line protection or in accordance with the
regulations applicable at the time. Before starting
any wiring work, check for correct polarity and that
the voltage of the individual system components,
i.e. of the solar station, solar modules, lead-acid
battery, consumers, complies with that specified. If
in doubt, consult your specialist dealer! When
installing the unit, it is important to observe the
sequence described:
1. Check to see whether the connected battery
already has an earth connection. In this case,
the minus pole must be earthed because the
solar station is earthed internally. If not, connect
the unit's earth connection to your home's earth
connection. If you do not have an earth
connection, an earth connection must be
created in accordance with the regulations (e.g.
a ground rod). Under no circumstances is it
permitted to operate the unit unearthed
because operation of class 1 equipment in
the presence of an error/failure can prove
life-threatening. Earthing the neutral
Retain these installation, operating and maintenance instructions for the full duration of the operator's service life!
To save the battery on account of the increased
power dissipation on standby (approx. 1.8 W).
Installation
The SHS200 solar station must be installed near
the battery in accordance with its protection class.
conductor on the output side is not
permitted and will destroy the unit!
2. Connect the battery to the designated screw
terminals -B +B, taking care to pole correctly to
avoid short circuits. In order to keep the voltage
drop low and also the heating of the cable
connected with it, a flexible cable cross-section
of 4.0 mm² is recommended. A corresponding
fuse should always be sited directly at the
battery's plus pole in accordance with the
regulations on line protection. The cables
connecting the battery to the station should not
exceed a length of 3 m. The green LED on the
unit should light up. If not, check the fuse links
and make sure that voltage is being applied to
the connection lead.
3. If the station is so far working correctly, connect
the solar module to the screw terminals -M +M,
taking care to pole correctly.
4. Connect the DC consumer to the screw
terminals -L +L, taking care to pole correctly.
Use cable of at least 1.5 mm² or in accordance
with the line protection. If the consumers are a
distance away from the solar station, you should
select a larger cable cross-section in order to
The room in which the battery is located must be
well ventilated in accordance with the regulations.
Do not mount the unit directly over heat sources
nor on easily ignitable materials. There must be a
clear space of >100 mm above and below the unit.

keep voltage drops on the line as low as
possible. If the consumer connections are
incorrectly poled, these can still be destroyed
despite the fuse protection.
