If the operator's safety is no longer ensured the in-
strument is to be put out of service and protected
against use. The safety is no longer insured if the in-
strument:
• shows obvious damages
• does not carry out the desired measurements
• has been stored for too long under unfavourable con-
ditions
• has been subjected to mechanical stress during trans-
port.
The test instrument may only be used within the spe-
cified measurement ranges (as mentioned in the tech-
nical data section).
In order to avoid electrical shock, proper safety mea-
sures have to be respected when working with volta-
ges exceeding 120 V (60 V) DC or 50 V (25 V) rms AC.
These voltages represent the threshold contact volta-
ges according to DIN VDE (German Standard).
Prior to any measurement, ensure that test leads and
test instrument are in perfect condition.
To ensure correct functioning and a long life span,
avoid leaving the instrument in direct sunlight where
it can heat up.
The instrument may only be opened by specialised
staff (e.g. for fuse replacement). Prior to opening it has
to be ensured that the instrument is disconnected from
all measurement circuits.

4.0 Commisisioning

The safety references as quoted in paragraph 3.0 have to be
met for each testing (measurement) procedure.
