II Connection and start-up
The VHL housing series is designed mainly for use in
cameras with fixed focus lenses and the VHB series for
cameras with zoom lenses. To open the housing, undo
the two screws in the rear cover (VHL series; 4 screws
on the VHB series) and push the housing body forwards.
At the end of the support rail, tilt the housing body
downwards; turn sideways to remove completely.
This provides complete access for camera installation.
Camera height is adjustable in 4 stages using the so-
called „rack-support" (camera tray). The accessories
listed in section V are available for complementation and
easier installation.
III Installation and connection of screen
heater (fig. 1)
Push the heater into the camera tray from the front side.
A 2-pole plug mounted on the end of the cable.
A matching connection socket is provided on the power
supply units NE 104S (VHL), NE-105S (VHB) and the
cable distributor VHL-VHB/KV(S).
Attention must be paid that the heating does not
contain a thermostat switch and therefore warms up
immediately as soon as the power supply is
switched on.
For this reason, it is recommended that the electrical
connection of the heating is only carried out immediately
before the housing is closed, or one of the thermostat
switches listed under section V/„Accessories" be used
which is also mounted on the power supply or screw
terminal - instead of the wire jumper (see power supply
units/screw terminal installation instructions as well).
Important:
Attention is to be paid that operating voltages are the
same and permitted power levels met when connected
and operating heater and camera.
The making current of the heater element can exceed
10 times of the nominal current.
(Power rating:
230 V heater: 7 W
24 V heater: 9 W)

IV Connection of central plug
Connect cable to the central plug - on VHL/VHB-ST/LX
housings - as shown in diagram IV.1 and fig. 2.
The mains connection cable to the power supply must
meet HO5xx standards at least. Connector sleeves are to
be used for flexible power leads; video and control
cables are to held together by a shrink sleeve. The PE
connection must be wired leading; attention must be
paid to the correction allocation of L1 and N.
The video and control cables must be fastened so that
they cannot come into contact with any part of the
primary circuit (see fig. 2). RG59U or 0.6L/3.7 video
cable and approx. 6 mm outer diameter control cable
are to be used to ensure perfect sealing of central plug.
