1. Installation
It is necessary during installation to observe codes of good
practice, to comply with local requirements and to follow the
installation instructions. The installation location should be
protected against frost and be easily accessible. An isolating
valve should be fitted upstream of the water supply unit.
In case of a 2" connection, a Venturi nozzle is
inserted in the outlet.
1.1 Assembly
1. Flush pipework thoroughly.
2. Install the water supply unit:
G
Fit the venturi nozzle 8 (2" size only)
G
Ensure correct flow direction as indicated by arrow
G
Install in horizontal pipework with filter bowl downwards
G
Install free of bending or twisting stress.
Where solder union connectors are used, do not solder
while connected to the water supply unit, otherwise high
temperatures will destroy important inner working
parts.First solder the solder union connectors then fit the
pressure reducing valve and finally fit the water supply
unit.
When fitting the check valve, ensure that flow is in the
direction of the arrow.
3. Seal in pressure gauge connection.
1.2 Reverse Rinsing Water Drainage
The reverse rinsing water must be piped to the drain in such a
way that no back pressure can occur.
To ensure this, there are three possibilities:
1. Direct connection to drainage pipework
A DN 50/70 reducing connector and required DN 70 tundish
and pipe (maximum three 90° bends).
2. Free discharge into existing floor drain
3. Discharge into an open container.

2. Setting Outlet Pressure

1. Close valve 1 .
2. Release pressure at side of outlet (e. g. through water tap).
3. Close valve 2 .
4. Open valve 1 .
5. Loosen slotted screw 3 .

6. Set the outlet pressure
G
Turn the adjuster knob 4 until the setting scale 5
corresponds with the required setting on the pressure
gauge. If the pressure is to be set to a lower value, then
the outlet pressure must first be relieved to achieve the
required setting.
7. Retighten slotted screw 3 .
8. Slowly open valve 2 .

3. Reverse Rinsing

An inlet pressure of at least 1.5 bar is required for reverse rinsing.
The reverse rinsing interval is dependent on the degree of
contamination of the water. DIN 1988, Part 8 requires that the
reverse rinsing interval shall be no longer than every two months. To
ensure that convenient and regular reverse rinsing takes place,
we recommend that a Z11S automatic reverse rinsing actuator
be fitted.
Water can still be drawn during the
reverse rinsing cycle
3.1 Manual Reverse Rinsing
If reverse rinsing is not via a direct drainage connection, then a
suitable container must first be put underneath.
1. Open the ball valve 6 by turning the reverse rinse knob
until it reaches stops
G
Indicator bar must be vertical
G
The patented reverse rinsing system will start operating.
2. Close the ball valve after approximately 15 seconds
G
A longer reverse rinsing period may be necessary if the
filter is very dirty.
The date of the next scheduled reverse rinsing can be marked
using the memory ring 7 .
3.2 Automatic Reverse Rinsing with the Z11S
The Z11S automatic reverse rinsing actuator is available as an
accessory. The actuator automatically controls reverse rinsing at
any preset interval between four minutes and three months.

4. Calibrating the Setting Scale

The setting scale is precalibrated during manufacture. This
setting is lost when the adjuster knob is disassembled. It can
be recalibrated using the pressure gauge.
Set the outlet pressure at 4.0 bar as follows:
1. Close valve 1 .
2. Release pressure at side of outlet (e. g. through water tap).
3. Close valve 2 .
4. Open valve 1 .
5. Unscrew slotted screw 3 .
6. Set outlet pressure to 4.0 bar by turning adjuster knob.
7. Set the indicator scale with 4.0 in the middle of the
window.
8. Tighten slotted screw 3 .
9. Slowly open valve 2 .
