Clutch discs replacement (SMR 450-R; pages D.26-D.27)
This operation can be carried out by laying the motorcycle on the left side
without draining the engine oil. Remove the five fastening screws (1) and
the clutch cover (if necessary, lower the rear brake control pedal).
Using a 4 mm allen wrench, remove the six screws (2) with relevant spring
washers and the holder (3) assy. with bearing. Remove the clutch control
rod (4). Insert the tool (5), code no. 8000 A8191, in the seat on the hub (6).
Using a 27 mm wrench and the tool (7), code no. 8000 A8190, remove the
hub (6). Remove the thrust bearing (8), the spring pushing disc (9) and the
spring (10).
To avoid the pin (18A)-ball (18) assembly coming out of place, fasten
clutch drum (16) on the clutch hub (17) using a screw (A) M6x15.
Remove the pressure plate (11) complete with shim, the clutch spring (12),
the washer (13), the clutch drum stop hub (14) and the discs (15). Lubricate
the new discs (19) with engine oil then assemble the new discs on the clutch
drum (16) (first always mount a lined disc).
Remove the previously assembled screw (A) M6x15.
