FIRST USE
Connect the USB type-C charging cable connector
to the charger and the USB charging cable
connector to a suitable USB power supply with
at least 2A output current (for example, the USB
power supply that you use to charge your smart-
phone). After the power supply is connected, the
charger performs a short function test with all
the symbols of the LCD display illuminated for a
few seconds. When these symbols go out, a short
audible signal is given. If there are no batteries in
the device, the display shows "zero".
You can charge 1 to 4 Li-Ion/LiFePO4/NiMH
rechargeable batteries in any mixed configuration
completely independently from another with the
charger.
To charge a battery, pull the contact plate (nega-
tive contact) backwards and insert the battery
with the correct polarity (according to the "+" and
"-" symbols, as engraved in the charging slot). The
microprocessor-controlled charger automatically
detects whether it is a NiMH or lithium recharge-
able battery.
If a NiMH rechargeable battery is detected, the
charging process starts immediately. If a lithium
rechargeable battery is detected, charging for
Li-Ion batteries starts after 10 seconds.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR CHARGING LIFEPO4
RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES:
The charger cannot automatically detect LiFePO4
rechargeable batteries. The charging programme
must therefore be adjusted manually within 10
seconds after inserting this type of battery. This
is done by pressing and holding the function but-
ton (for approx. 3 seconds) until "LiFePO4" appears
on the display. Failure to do so may result in the
battery and charger being destroyed!
The device now charges the inserted batteries
automatically. Warming of the batteries during
the charging process is normal. After a battery
has been charged, this is indicated as described
above. NiMH rechargeable batteries are then
trickle charged.
