With the separately sold PC Card Adaptor
PC-AD, you can adapt the Image Memory
Card MG-2 for compatibility with PC Cards
(Type It) conforming to the standards of PC
Card Standard ATA.
Image Memory Card
* The Image Memory Card MG-2 is a new image recording media (SmartMedia)
developed for digital cameras. The Image Memory Card consists of a
semiconductor memory (NAND-type flash memory) to record digital image data
The recording process is electrically performed and enables erasure of existing
image data as well as re-recording of new image data
* Make sure to initialize (formav/initialize) the Image Memory Card with your digital
'camera before use.
What
is initialization?
Initialization refers to the preparation of the contents of the Image Memory Card
into a specified format to enable digital image data recording
+ Data can be written to the card at least 250,000 times. If data is written to the card
30 times a day, for instance, the card will last at least 20 years
{
+ Image Memory Cards with manufacturing detects will be replaced promptly,
However, FUJIFILM assumes no responsibilty for data that is lost or destroyed.
Proper Usage of the Image Memory Card
Protecting Your Data
* Data may be lost or destroyed in the following situations. Please note that
FUJIFILM assumes no responsibility for data that is lost or destroyed.
1. Improper handling and use of the memory card by the user or third party
2. Exposure to static electricity or electrical noise interference
3, Removal of the memory card or turning the power off while the memory card is
being accessed (i.e., during record, erase, initialization, and playback
operations)
4, The memory card can be used reliably for a long period of time, but will
eventually lose its ability to store and play back image data. At this point,
replace with a new memory card.
* We recommend saving your important data to another media (i.¢., MO disk, floppy
disk, hard disk, etc.)
m Precautions
* Do not remove the memory card or turn the power off while the memory card is
being accessed ((.e., during record, erase, initialization, and playback operations).
The memory card may be damaged.
'+ The memory card is a precision electronic instrument. Do not apply pressure or
shock, and avoid bending or dropping,
= Do not use or store the memory card in an environment subject to strong static
electricity or electrical noise interference.
* Do not use the memory card in a hot, humid, or corrosive environment
* Make sure that no dirt and foreign particles are on the contact a r e a .
Do not touch
the contact area,
+ Clean the memory card with a sott dry piece of cloth when dirty
+ To avoid exposing the card to static electricity when you carry or store it, always
keep the card in the special
available.
* Do not carry the memory card in your pants pocket or the like where it may be
bent and damaged by pressure when sitting or moving,
+ Apply the supplied index labels onto the index area. Do not use other
'commercially available index labels. Doing so may lead to problems when
inserting and removing the memory card. Use a pencil and fill in the blanks
provided on the index labels for your photographic data as necessary.
Protecting Your Dati
* Recording and erasing is inhibited when the write-protect adhesive seal is applied
on the write-protect area, To enable recording and erasing, remove the write-
protect adhesive seal,
+ Apply the write-protect adhesive seal property. Make sure that the write-protect
adhesive seal is applied securely in its place.
Do not use other commercially available write-protect adhesive seals. Doing so
may lead to problems when inserting and removing the memory card.
+ When the write-protect adhesive seal is dirty, recording and erasing may not be
prohibited. Clean the wrte-protect adhesive seal with a soft dry piece of cloth
when dirty.
