3.3. CHECK OIL ENGINE LEVEL
■ Never remove the dipstick of the oil sump when the engine is running.
■ Never fill the oil sump up when the engine is running or hot.
■ Never smoke when filling the oil sump up or if, in the vicinity, there are naked flames or if any
other conditions are met to start a fire.
Make sure the pump is on a stable and flat surface.
1.
Unscrew and remove the oil filling dipstick plug [(b) Fig. 02].
2.
To check the oil level, clean the dipstick plug gauge, using a clean cloth and fit the oil plug back.
Do not screw it to check the oil level.
3.
If the oil level is less than the bottom level [(d) Fig. 03], fill the oil sump with correct oil [Fig. 05]
up to the top mark [(c) Fig. 03].

NOTE
Replace the oil as soon as it is contaminated (see the MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS).
RECOMMENDED ENGINE FUEL
Prefer using Motul 4100 TURBOLIGHT 10W-40 or an SE class (API classification) equivalent oil or
an upper grade oil.
We recommend using SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40 oils, for general use and all temperatures. If you use
a single grade oil, select the correct viscosity for an average ambient temperature, depending on the
season. [Fig. 05]
3.4. OIL SENSOR SECURITY
•
The oil sensor security controls the oil level in the carter and automatically stops the engine if the
oil level is less than a pre defined level.
•
This device is not existing for the models JARD 12 OHV and JARD 20 OHV.
