TOW BAR
1.
Insert the assembled tow bar (#18) into the opening on the support foot.
2.
Align the 2 holes and secure the tow bar in place using M10 x 80 hex bolts
(#43) and M10 lock nuts.
3.
Torque the bolts 32 ft-lb.
OPERATION
WARNING! Do not place your hands into the infeed chute when loading.
WARNING! Do not reach or step across the rail while the chipper is running.
1.
Maneuver the chipper into the desired position.
2.
Stop the front wheel with the brake, ensuring that the chipper cannot roll
or be moved.
3.
Ensure that the fuel shut-off valve is in the ON position.
4.
Move the choke control lever to the CHOKE position.
a.
This should only be needed if the engine has not been recently run
or is cold.
5.
Move the throttle control lever to the FAST position.
6.
For recoil start, accomplish the following:
a.
turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
b.
Grasp the recoil starter handle and slowly pull until you feel
resistance.
c.
Allow the cord to retract slightly.
d.
Pull the cord rapidly to start the engine. This should be ordinarily
accomplished with only 1 or 2 pulls.
7.
For electric start, accomplish the following:
a.
Turn and hold the key in the START position until the engine starts.
b.
Allow the key return to the RUN position.
8.
Once the engine is running well, move the choke control lever, if used,
slowly back to the RUN position.
9.
If the engine has not been in recent use or is cold, allow the engine to
warm up by running it at half throttle for 3 to 4 minutes. Then, advance
the engine throttle control to maximum speed.
