⋅ Read all the safety notes and
instructions. Failure to observe
the safety notes and instructions
may cause electric shock, fire and/
or serious injuries.
⋅ Packaging materials such as poly
bags should be kept out of reach
of children
⋅ Always keep children under 8 years
away from the appliance and
cord.
⋅ Children 8 years and older may
clean and maintain the appliance
only under supervision.
⋅ Children 8 years and older and
people who lack knowledge or
experience of handling the appli-
ance, or whose physical, sensory or
mental capacities are restricted,
may only use the appliance under
supervision or instruction by a per-
son responsible for their safety.
Do not leave the appliance oper-
ating unsupervised.
⋅ Do not let children play with the
appliance.
⋅ Caution, risk of burning: the touch-
able surfaces get very hot. Even
after the appliance is switched
off, the heating surfaces stay hot
for some time. Allow the appliance
to cool before storing.
⋅ The lid must be placed on the jug
during operation and the bottom
of the jug must be dry before the
appliance is used.
⋅ Do not open the lid during boiling
or when pouring – risk of burning!
⋅ This appliance is designed for

⋅ The appliance is not intended for
purely commercial use.
⋅ Place the appliance on a stable
and level surface and do not oper-
ate it close to heat sources (hob,
gas flame etc.) or in an explosive
environment in which flammable
liquids or gases are located.
⋅ Before each use, check the appli-
ance and accessories to ensure
they are in perfect condition. The
appliance must not be operated if
it has been dropped or shows
signs of damage. In these cases,
the appliance must be unplugged
and inspected by a qualified elec-
trician.
⋅ Never fill a hot jug with cold water.
Allow the appliance to cool before
repeat use or descaling.
⋅ Never immerse the appliance or
plug in water in order to clean.
⋅ Do not wash any parts in the dish-
washer.
⋅ To protect against overheating,
the appliance automatically cuts
out if no water is in it. However,
please avoid switching the appli-
ance on without water in it.
⋅ Only use the appliance to heat
water or make hot tea.
⋅ Unplug after each use. To prevent
the appliance from being acciden-
tally pulled off the work surface,
do not allow the cord to hang over
the edge.
⋅ Keep the cord away from hot sur-
faces, sharp edges and mechani-
cal loads. Regularly check the cord
