Cleaning and care
Cleaning before use
Before using the appliance for
•
the first time, wash the interior
and all internal accessories with
lukewarm water and some
neutral soap so as to remove
the typical smell of a brand new
product. Then dry thoroughly.
Defrosting
You should defrost the freezer
compartment two or three times a
year when the ice is about 4 mm
thick. Follow these steps:
•
Set the thermostat to Maximum
gear at least 12 hours before
defrosting.
•
After this period has elapsed, switch
off the freezer compartment by
removing the plug from the mains
supply.
•
Remove all food from the freezer,
wrap them in newspaper and store
in a cold place and leave the door
open.
When the defrosting is finished, the
•
compartment must be cleaned and
wiped dry.
Turn the appliance back on with the
•
thermostat set to Maximum, and
wait at least one hour before
placing the food back inside.
•
After some hours, the thermostat
can be set back to original position.
•
Do not use mechanical devices or
•
other artificial means to
accelerate the defrosting process,
other than those recommended
by the manufacturer.
Do not use electrical appliance
•
inside the food storage
compartments of the appliance,
unless they are of the type
recommended by the
manufacturer.
Checks
To ensure safety, perform the
following checks after cleaning the
unit:
• Is the power cord plug firmly
inserted into a dedicated wall
outlet? Confirm that the plug is not
abnormally hot.
• Check the power cord for cracks and
damage. Should any irregularity be
observed, contact the dealer from
whom you purchased this unit or our
customer's service department.
Door seals cleaning
• Take care to keep door seals clean.
Sticky food and drinks can cause
seals to stick to the cabinet and tear
when you open the door. Wash the
seals with a mild detergent and
warm water. Rinse and dry them
thoroughly after cleaning.
