Unsuitable locks impair personal protection and fire protection: The lock is suitable for fire doors and
smoke doors ("Classification key", page 52).
· Check whether the certification of the door matches the lock.
· Always ensure that the lock is installed in a suitable size and with the appropriate accessories.
Unsuitable door seals impair personal protection: The use of door seals (for example profile seals or
floor seals) must not impair the function of the lock.
Shattering glass doors can cause serious injuries: Glass doors or glass parts on doors must consist of
safety glass or laminated safety glass.
Unsuitable fixing devices impair personal protection and burglary protection: Suitable fixing devices
must be used depending on the installation situation and door materials.
Incorrect or faulty installation impairs personal protection: The usual installation height for horizontal
panic bars is 900 mm to 1100 mm above the finished floor surface.
· If the majority of residents in the building are children, the installation height must be reduced
accordingly.
· Horizontal panic bars must be installed in a way that achieves the maximum possible effective bar
length.
· Install all provided lock counterparts or panels to ensure compliance with the requirements of the
European standard.
Restricted mobility of the door impairs personal protection: All blocking elements must be assembled
in a way that does not obstruct the free movement of the door. The doors must only be held closed by
the approved closures . Door closers must be installed in a way that does not prevent the door from being
opened by children or frail persons.
· Check that all installed devices are approved and correctly installed.
