1 fail-safe switch GM701S with premounted angle bracket
1 Allen key for fixing the fail-safe switch onto the angle bracket
1 GM701S operating instructions, ident no. 701976.
If one of the above-mentioned components is missing or damaged,
please contact one of the ifm branch offices.

6. Assembly

Mounting conditions
• The unit can be mounted flush with copper, aluminium and brass
according to EN 60947-5-2, type I1C40SP2M.
• The unit is not flush mountable in steel in accordance with EN 60947-
5-2, type I2C40SP2M.
• In addition one side of the unit can be mounted flush with steel.

Mounting of the unit
The unit has to be positioned in a way that
it is sufficiently protected from changing its
position. To meet these requirements
• the unit must be mounted at the required
location and in the required position by
means of the angle bracket in such a
way that it cannot be removed.
• non-detachable screws have to be
tightened to 1.0 Nm
• the use of elongated holes has to be
limited to the initial setting.
