Installation and operation
CAUTION

Do not operate this pump
without personal protective
equipment Pump can
generate noise levels above
85 dBa that could result in hearing loss
Failure to comply could result in
personal injury
WARNING

Do not exceed lowest pressure rating of
any component in system
Failure to comply may result in
serious injury or death
WARNING

Do not operate pump with broken,
missing or defective parts
Replace defective parts prior to
operation
Failure to comply may result in
serious injury or death
NOTE
Refer to Fig. IPB 1, page 14 for
component identification for installation
and operation
Bench test and
operation
Establishing starting
pressure
1 Make sure air pressure at regulator
reads zero
2 Screw connector (2) (with thread
sealant) into inlet of air motor
3 Install air coupler (3) onto air supply line
4 Connect air coupler (3) to connector (2)
5 Slowly supply air pressure (not to exceed
30 psi (2.1 bars)) to pump's motor
Pump should cycle
NOTE
Pump must begin to cycle once air
pressure reaches 30 psi (2.1 bars)
If pump does not cycle refer to
Troubleshooting chart, page 13 for details
11
Initial prime
With air pressure at zero:
6 Connect a product hose to pump's fluid
outlet Direct hose into an appropriate
collection container
7 Place pump in fluid to be dispensed
8 Slowly supply air pressure to pump's
motor
9 Allow pump to cycle slowly until fluid is
free of air
If pump does not prime, refer to
Troubleshooting chart, page 13 for details
Leakage and stall
NOTE
Should leakage occur anywhere within
system, disconnect air to motor
Personal injury can occur
With air pressure at zero:
10 Attach a control valve to outlet hose of
pump
11 Make sure nozzle on control valve is
open
12 Slowly supply air pressure to pump's
motor
13 Allow pump to cycle slowly until fluid is
once again free of air
14 Set air pressure to normal operating
pressure
15 Operate control valve into a container
16 Shut off control valve
17 Visually inspect pump for external leaks
18 Pump should not cycle more than once
or twice in one hour
If pump does not stall, refer to
Troubleshooting chart, page 13 for details
19 Check motor for air leakage
If motor leaks, refer to air motor service
guide (397873) for details
