reference!
SAFETY MESSAGES
Disregard of the safety messages may lead to danger of life, burning or
fire!
 Installation, mounting or works on the electrical connection may only be
carried out by an approved electrician.
 Do not look directly into the light source.
 Type Y attachement: If the external flexible cable or cord of this luminaire is
damaged, it shall be exclusively replaced by the manufacturer or a
qualified electrician.
 The product may not be modified or converted.
 Do not hang or fasten anything on the product, especially no decoration.
 Do not cover the product - provide free air circulation.
 In case of a malfunction you may NOT touch the product or operate it
further. Disconnect the product from the power supply by an external
switch or by the fuse.
A malfunction exists when:
 visible damages appear.
 the product does not work properly (e.g. flickering).
 smoke, steam or crackling sounds appear.
 smell of burning is recognisable.
 an overheating is recognisable (e.g. by discolouration of adjacent
surfaces).
Operate the product only after maintenance and examination by an
approved electrician!
 This product is not intended to be used by children. Ensure that children do
not suffer any harm e.g. by burns from hot surfaces or by electrical shock.
Additional safety messages are indicated by this symbol:
USE AS DIRECTED
This product serves exclusively lighting purposes and may:
 only be used with a voltage of 220-240V ~50/60Hz.
 only be installed according to safety class I (one).
 only be operated on normally or not flammable surfaces.
 only be used in dry condition,
 not in damp or dirt-endangered rooms.
 not in areas of high air humidity.
 not be exposed to strong mechanical loads or to strong contamination.
PLACEMENT
Operate the product only on an even, stable and tilt-fixed background.
Choose a place where the installation is not a danger (e.g. stumbling,
knocking).
INSTALLATION
 It is recommended to assemble the product in a lying position.
 Assemble the lamp base first (1).
 Open the lamp head (2).
 The sensor may not lie on the ground.
 Place the lamp head on the lamp pole. Secure it with the supplied screws
(3).
 Connect the plugs of the lamp head with the sockets from the lamp pole
(4). Put these connections into the lamp head.
 Close the lamp head (5).
 Place the luminaire on the designated place. Note the directions for
placement.
OPERATION
Putting into service
Use only parts, which are supplied with the product or are described as
accessories!
Inspect the product for loose parts inside the housing. When there are loose
parts inside the housing and these are not explicitly described the product may
not be installed or operated.
 Connect the plug of the product with a socket of the public power supply
(mains).
 Use the switch to turn the product on and off.
LIGHT CONTROL / FUNCTIONS
Infrared sensor for remote control
Light sensor
Motion sensor
Service button
The service button may be used applying a thin, but not pointed, object!
Sensors
Light Sensor (Fig. A + B)
The sensor detects the amount of light of a cone-shaped area with a diameter of
~ 2,60m. The detection of the amount of light serves the automatic regulation of
the light. Depending on the surrounding light the light of the luminaire is regulated
to a target value of approximately 600 lux on the illuminated surface. After
changing the surrounding situation or at a new place it might be necessary to
recalibrate this value. This is described under Adjustment of the surrounding light
depending light value. The target value may also be adjusted. For this the
.
programming aid, art-no. 1000455, is needed.
A minimum distance of the sensor to windows of 0,6m must be kept. Light
reflections from nearby surfaces may lead to a false regulation of the light.
Motion Sensor (Fig. C)
In an area of approx. 3,1 x 4,7 m the motion sensor detects slight movements
(e.g. movement of a hand). In an area of approx. 4,7 x 5,9 m the motion sensor
detects stronger movements such as walking-by. When there is a person inside
the detection area the indicator LED of the service button is red. It turns to yellow
when there is no person inside the detection area. Pushing the service button for
more than 10 seconds switches off the LED.
Functions
Using the service button the luminaire may be operated in two different modes,
the office mode and the open plan mode. Other modes may be employed using
the programming aid, art-no. 1000455.
Office mode: The luminaire is switched on when the motion sensor is triggered. If
no motion is detected for 15 minutes the luminaire is switched off.
Open plan mode: Same behavior as the office mode. But when there is no
detection for 15 minutes the brightness is reduced for another 15 minutes until
the luminaire switches off finally.
With a short push (<1sec.) on the service button the mode is chosen. The LED
flashes one time when the luminaire is in the office mode. It flashes two times
when in the open plan mode.
Adjustment of the surrounding light depending light
Reflecting surfaces within the detection area of the light sensor may lead to false
adjustment. Push the service button ≥3 sec. and ≤7 sec. for adjustment. The
illumination is switched off to determine a light value without artificial light.
After 10 sec. the illumination is regulated to 100% and the determined value is
saved.
Further possibilities
Using the programming aid, art-no.1000455, networks of luminaires may be
established and individual system adjustments may be programmed.
Before setting up a network of luminaires all luminaires need a reset. This is
described in the manual of the programming aid.
Using the remote control, art-no.1000454, allows simple control of basic
functions such as switching on/off and changing the brightness.
