18.2.1 Maintenanceplan

Wear of machine depends strongly on operation condition. The following intervals are valid when
using the machine within the operation limits:

18.2.2 Check/clean anti-kick-back device

Check: after turning upwards, each individual gripper must return to its lower starting position
only under the influence of its weight.
Cleaning: clean grippers that are soiled with resin or difficult to move with a brush and turpentine
and then dry them with a compressed air jet.
Replace damaged grippers immediately!

18.2.3 Replacing / adjusting the cutter knives

The planer shaft is suitable for strip knives. The machine is supplied with a strip knife
as standard. If the planing surface is bad, the cutter knives must be replaced or
regrinded for strip knives. The appropriate dimensions can be found in the technical
data.
Danger from cutting edges! Always wear protective gloves when working on the
planing shaft! Injuries to hands due to sharp cutting edges.

Activity
At least once per work-shift by inspection to verify
that they are in good working condition, eg have no
impact damages to the surface and that the anti-
kick back device fall back freely due to its own
weight after lifting.
Cleaning (from dust and chips)
Check the planing knives for perfect condition (no
cracks, dents, bends etc.)
Check the functionality of the safety devices.
Check retighten or replace if necessary.
Check the stopping time (braking effect). The
stopping time must not exceed 10 seconds.
Check and clean thoroughly
Control, lubrication
Check for damage/wear, lubricate, replace if
necessary
Check for damage/wear and replace if necessary.
Check the height adjustment of the entry planer
table.
Clean the belt and pulley channels with a soft brush,
wool or paper towel. Never use solvents or water!
Apply a thin layer of oil or grease to the unpainted
moving parts of the machine, but protect the belts
and pulleys from contamination by oil, grease,
solvents, paint, etc.
