Prior to the first time the pump is put into operation,
the pump housing (10) has to be fully vented. To do
so, please fill the pump housing (10) through the
filling opening (6) completely with water. Install the
equipment on a solid and level surface. Filling the
intake line accelerates the intake process.
Please check to make sure that no leakage occurs.
Subsequently, close the filling opening airtight
again. It is highly recommended to vent the suction
line (1) as well, i.e. to fill it with water. It is true that
the electrical pumps of the SPIDO series are self-
priming and can be put into operation by filling only
the pump housing with water. In this case, however,
the pump will require some time before it will have
sucked in the liquid to be pumped and proceed
to the actual discharging function. In addition, this
way of proceeding may require the pump to be
filled several times. This depends on the length
and diameter of the suction line. After filling, please
open any shutting device (9) in the pressure line, for
instance a water tap, to enable the air to escape
during sucking in.
8. ON /OFF
Plug the mains plug into a 230V AC socket.
AUTOMATIC COMMAND
This model is equipped with automatic command.
Opening a water tap or any other consuming
component will lead to a drop of the pressure
inside the pipe system. As soon as the preset cut-
in pressure is reached, the electronic pump control
will start the pump. Following the closing of the
consuming component, the pump will continue to
run until the pressure in the system stops to raise,
subsequently it will cut the pump out. The pipe
system will then be subject to the max. attainable
pressure of the pump.
As soon as you plug, the pumps starts. The pump
switches off once the max.pump pressure has been
reached (Cf. technical data)
• Use the "SET" button as the ON / OFF button (ON
/ OFF on the screen)
• When the pump works: drawing of (tap + 3 drops)
• Press "CHECK" to show pressure and flow.
If the pressure decreases below the switching
pressure (Item JCA-802P – pre-set CUT-IN Pressure
1,5 b), the electronic control automatically switches
on the pump.
Once you have finished drawing-off water, the
maximum pressure is created in the pipe. The pump
then continues to run few second before switching
off.
SETTING THE START PRESSURE.
Use the CHECK button to read pressure and flow.
Press the "SET" button several seconds to display
the start value.
Use "SET" to increase the value (+),
Use "CHECK" to decrease the value (-)
Press the "SET" button several seconds to return to
the initial screen showing the flow and pressure and
the 3 drops of the tap
During the adjustment the pump pauses,
then restarts on return to the initial screen.
• A tap with 3 drops = normal running
• A tap with 1 drop = abnormal operation
or leakage.
• A tap and 0 drop + flashing: lack of water.
If the pump was out of operation for some
extended period of time, the steps
described above have to be repeated for a
renewed putting into operation.
The electrical pumps of the SPIDO series are
equipped with an integrated thermal motor
protection feature. In the case of overload, the
motor will switch off independently and on again
after cooling down. For possible causes and their
elimination, please refer to the "Maintenance and
troubleshooting" section.
9. DRY-RUNNING PROTECTION
This pump is equipped with dry-running protection.
In the case of dry-running or the absence of water,
the electronic pump control will cut the pump out.
This protection feature will prevent another automatic
start-up of the pump.
The pump stops 5 seconds after a 100 seconds
cycle without water.
After 3 cycles, the pump stops and the „Err" signal is
written on the LED display.
The tap is flashing.
To restart, unplug and reconnect the pump.
10. ANTI-LEAKAGE PROTECTION
This pump is equipped with anti-leakage protection.
The pump stops if it starts more than 6 times in less
than 2 minutes.
LEDs turn red.
To restart, unplug and reconnect the pump.
11. MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING
Prior to carrying out any maintenance work,
the pump must be separated from the
electrical mains. If you fail to separate the
unit from mains, there is a risk of an inadvertent start
of the pump.
