The trace heating systems are designed and
installed specifically by the manufacturer accord-
ing to the requirements of the operator. The tem-
perature class and the additional operating con-
ditions are reviewed by the manufacturer before
commissioning, whereby local and operating
conditions are taken into consideration, and they
must not be changed at a later date.
The controls are an integral part of the trace
heating system and as such they are designed
and tested taking the standards according to
Clause 2 into consideration.
Depending on the particular application, the
safety temperature limiter is an integral part
of this installation. Changes to monitoring
devices are also forbidden.
Whenever work is carried out on the trace
heating systems, it is necessary to observe
the national safety and accident prevention
regulations and the safety instructions given
below in this manual that, like this text, are
set in italics!
1.2 Special conditions for use
1.2.1 Trace heating systems type HTSA
The mounting of glands, connectors and termi-
nations must be carried out according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
Any heating cable end that is not connected
must be fitted with an end seal that has been
approved by thuba Ltd.
The maximum operating temperature range of
the components used must be observed.
Additional heat sources that influence the tem-
perature class and the ambient temperature
must be taken into consideration in the temper-
ature calculation of the trace heating system.
1.2.2 Trace heating systems type HTSB

nations must be carried out according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
