ENGINE OIL RECOMMENDATIONS:
•
Engine oil is a major factor affecting engine performance and service life.
•
Non-detergent and 2-stroke engine oils will damage the engine and are not recommended. (See the
page 12 of this manual).
11.2. AIR CLEANER SERVICE
A dirty air cleaner will restrict air flow into the carburetor. To prevent carburetor malfunction, service the
air cleaner regularly. Service more frequently when operating the generator in extremely dusty areas.
Never run the generator without the air cleaner or with a damage air cleaner.
If not, rapid engine wear will result.
1.
Remove the screw and then remove the air filter case cover. (FIG. 24)
2.
Remove the foam element. (FIG. 25)
3.
Wash the foam element in kerosene, fuel or gas oil and dry it. (FIG. 25)
4.
Oil the foam element and squeeze out excess oil. The foam element should be wet but not
dripping. (FIG. 25)
Do not wring out the foam element when squeezing it. This could cause it
to tear
Clean and replace air cleaner elements more often when operating in dusty environments.
5.
Insert the foam element into the air filter case. Be sure the foam element surface matcher the air
filter so there is no air leak.
6.
Install the air filter case cover in its original position and tighten the screw.
Engine should never run without the foam element; excessive piston and
cylinder wear may result
Fire forbidden.
