Cleaning and desinfection

 Only clean the outside of the monitor with a damp
cotton cloth. Dampen the cotton cloth with lukewarm
water only, possibly adding a mild detergent. Never
use abrasive or solvent-based detergents as these
could damage the surface of the monitor.
 Never use the monitor in the shower. If liquid has
entered into the monitor, immediately remove the
batteries from the monitor and send the device to
your retailer or the manufacturer.
 The user (doctor) decides whether and when the
cuff sleeve needs to be disinfected for hygienic
reasons.
54
 I.E.M. GmbH recommends the following agents for
disinfecting the cuff sleeve following successful
inspection:
1. Terralin Liquid (Manufacturer: Schülke & Mayr)
2. Isopropanol (70%)
i
Always observe the manufacturer's instructions on
the use of these products.
Always allow the agents to dry without any
residues.
 Avoid disinfecting the cuff bladder and connected
rubber tubing. Carefully remove the bladder
(including the tubing) from the cuff sleeve before
disinfection. The bladder and tubing can be
damaged by disinfectants. Do not submerge the cuff
sleeve in disinfectant solutions, as doing so may
damage it.
 To achieve the optimum effect, apply the
disinfectant to the cuff sleeve for at least five
minutes.
