The R-080142, R-080144 and R-080148 are
three practical furnaces especially designed to heat
casting rings and crucibles for the dental technicians.
They have a control panel on which a pre-set
sequence of temperatures and times can be
programmed by the user. Furthermore, up to 20
different programmes can be stored. This simplifies
programming, as previous programmes can be
recovered when required. Both furnaces work in the
following 7 steps:
• Waiting Time A0: a time when the unit is at room
temperature and is not running.
• 1st Ramp Time A1: a time when the temperature
inside the furnace rises gradually to a level pre-set
by the user.
• 1st Plateau Time A2: a time when the temperature
inside the furnace remains steady at the level
reached at the end of the previous step.
• 2nd Ramp Time A3: a time when the temperature
inside the furnace rises gradually again, to a level
pre-set by the user.
• 2nd
Plateau
Time
temperature inside the furnace remains steady at
the level reached at the end of the previous step.
When this time is up, the unit emits a warning
buzz.
• 3rd Ramp Time A5: a time when the temperature
inside the furnace rises gradually again to a level
pre-set by the user.
• 3rd Plateau Time A6: a time when the temperature
inside the furnace remains steady at the level
reached in the previous step.
At the end of 2nd Plateau Time A4 the unit emits a
warning buzz. Another buzz is emitted at the end of
3rd Plateau Time A6 and the furnace remains at this
level until it is disconnected. Pilot lamp 4 also comes
on.
Heating ramps of the programes can be edited
either in grades/minute or just in time. In order to
choose editing mode press key (10) for 8
seconds. The display on the left will show " -6-"
and in the display on the right you enter the value
from 0 (indicating minutes) or 1 (indicating
ºC/min). In order to save configuration, press key
(10). Whenever this parameter is modified, all
programes stored in memory will erase.
The time for each step can be adjusted from 0 to 99
hours 59 minutes. It is also important to point out that
if we chose a "0" time for a given step and then we
press the decrease key again, the display will show
"UU.UU". This means that when this step ends, the

control will understand that the program has also
finished.
Heating ramps of each step can also be
adjusted between 1 and 15 ºC/min. If we choose
ramp "1" for a step and then we press key
decrease, the display will show "AA.AA". This
means that the furnace will work at highest
power till it reaches temperature set.
The final temperatures at each ramp can be
adjusted from 0 to 1100 ºC.
To enable the user to see the actual program
status at all times, the furnace control panel has a
synoptic display. Lamps (11) indicate which step is
ongoing, while lamps (12) show the temperatures
reached.
The furnace also has two digital displays: the left
hand one (1) indicates the present temperature in
the furnace. The right hand display shows the time
remaining to the end of A4 (when at steps A0, A1,
A2 or A3) or the time remaining to the end of A6
the
(when at steps A5 or A6). These displays have two
functions. To switch between them press W/T (6).
When this key is pressed the left-hand display (1)
shows the theoretical temperature setting expected
by the microprocessor, and the right-hand display
shows the time remaining to the end of the step in
progress. When programming key (14) is pressed
the right-hand display (2) shows the number of the
program enabled.
Finally, on the left-hand side of the machine there
is a current pickup which is extremely useful for
connecting up a suction system. We recommend
using
the
extractor's control output operates when steps "A1"
and "A2" are being carried out, and furnace
temperature is between 75 ºC and 850 ºC. When
temperature exceeds 850 ºC, the control output
disactivates, and will not reactivate even if the
temperature falls below 850 ºC. When steps "A3"
and "A4" are being carried out, and furnace
temperature is between 75 ºC and 650 ºC, the
control
output
exceeds 650 ºC, the control output disactivates,
and will not reactivate even if the temperature falls
below 650 ºC.
PROGRAMMING
It is extremely easy to program a heating sequence
into the furnace hearth and then save it as one of
the 20 programs which can be stored. Proceed as
