MAINTENANCE
2.7
SERVICING THE FLUID SECTION
Perform the following steps before performing any
i
maintenance on the fluid section.
Before proceeding, follow the Pressure Relief
Procedure outlined previously in this manual.
Additionally, follow all other warnings to reduce
the risk of an injection injury, injury from moving
parts or electric shock. Always unplug the sprayer
before servicing!
1.
Loosen and remove the four screws (Fig. 6, item 1) that secure the
front cover (2) to the motor cover (3). Remove the front cover.
Pinch Hazard. Make sure to keep fingers clear from
any of the moving parts inside the pump once the
cover is removed.
2.
Thoroughly clean any dried spray material that may have formed
on the front cover.

3.
Make sure the pump is turned ON (l) and the pressure control
knob is set to low pressure.
4.
Engage the pump's Creep Mode (the following steps A-B must
be completed in quick succession). This will place the eccentric
and piston into its lowest position, which is needed for servicing
the fluid section.
A In quick succession, with the pressure control knob set
to low pressure, turn the pressure control knob to high
pressure two (2) times, ending in low pressure.
(e.g. start at Low => up to High => back to Low => up to
High => back to Low)
B Slowly turn the pressure control knob clockwise until you
can see and hear that the piston is moving very slowly.
5.
When the piston gets to the bottom dead center position, turn
the pressure control knob fully counterclockwise to low pressure
until the piston stops moving.
6.
Turn the power switch OFF (0) and unplug the sprayer.

7.
Skid units - Remove the retaining clip from the bottom of the foot
valve housing. Remove the siphon assembly.
For High Rider units the siphon tube can remain threaded into
the foot valve housing.
8.
Tilt the sprayer back for easy access to the fluid section.
2.7.1
REPLACING THE FLUID SECTION
The fluid section can be removed in one unit and
i
replaced. Follow the steps below ONLY if you plan
to replace the entire fluid section.
For any type of servicing to the components of the
fluid section, see sections 2.7.2 and 2.7.3.
1.
Make sure to complete the steps above in section 2.7.
2.
Remove the hose from the rear of the fluid section cylinder.
3.
Loosen the lock nut (Fig. 7, item 4) from the pump housing to
release the entire fluid section (5). Tap the lock nut with a mallet
in order to loosen.
4.
Slide the fluid section forward to until the piston rod is out of the
T-slot on the slider assembly and remove the entire fluid section
assembly (5).
5.
Install the new fluid section by reversing the steps above.
