OPERATION
You can use this steam iron to iron items such as
clothes, towels, tea towels, tablecloths and sheets. This
iron has an extremely smooth soleplate that makes
ironing easier. This appliance also has a spray button
and a button for extra steam to easily remove stubborn
creases from clothes. The self-cleaning function prevents
the build-up of scale in the steam iron.
uSING FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Remove all packaging from the appliance.
• Remove the protective foil from the soleplate.
• Clean the appliance, see 'Cleaning and
Maintenance'.
• Fill the water reservoir, see 'Filling the water
reservoir'.
• Stand the iron on its heel on a level, stable, heat-
resistant surface.
• Insert the plug into the mains power socket.
• Turn the temperature control dial to 'MAX'.
• Allow the appliance to warm up for ten minutes.
This will allow any dust and manufacturing residues
to burn away. A small amount of smoke may be
released from the appliance whilst it is warming up.
This is normal and does not indicate a problem with
the appliance.
• Make sure there is sufficient ventilation.
• Take the appliance by the handle.

• Hold the appliance horizontally above a sink or
(wash)basin.
• Set the steam control to '1' for 1 minute.
• Press the extra steam button a number of times.
• Turn the temperature control dial to '0'.
• Stand the iron on its heel on a level, stable, heat-
resistant surface.
• Remove the plug from the mains power socket.
• Allow the appliance to cool.
• Continue with the procedure in 'Using the
appliance'.
uSING THE APPLIANCE
Filling the water reservoir
• Turn the steam control to '0'.
• Fill the filling beaker with water. You can use tap
water. The self-cleaning function prevents the
formation of scale in the iron.
• Open the filling opening.
• Fill the water reservoir via its opening.
• Close the opening.
• Stand the appliance on its heel to check that the
water level in the water reservoir is not above the
maximum mark.
• Stand the iron on its heel on a level, stable, heat-
resistant surface.
• Continue with the procedure in 'Steam/dry ironing'.
