6.4 Replacing the CO2 special indicator
In order to ensure the fastest and most accurate colour reaction, we recommend filling the test container every 4-6 weeks with
fresh CO2 special indicator fluid. You can pour used indicator fluid down the drain in your home.
6.5 Cleaning the CO2 long-term test
Use warm water and soft sponge. Do not use cleaning agents.
6.6 Special information
• The CO2 special indicator is safe and free of chemical solvents. Nevertheless avoid prolonged skin and eye contact.
• Indicator liquid that accidentally enters the aquarium is harmless for all aquarium inhabitants.
• Store indicator liquid away from sunlight, heat and frost. Always store ampoules in a place that is not exposed to direct
light. Filling level due to technical reasons.
6.7 If you want to know more: How to determine the CO2 content in the aquarium
CO2 concentration, carbonate hardness (KH) and pH are in a certain ratio to one another. The CO2 concentration of the water
can be calculated from the pH and carbonate hardness. Suitable pH and KH tests can be obtained from specialist retailers.
• Measure the carbonate hardness of the aquarium water.
• In the table, read the corresponding pH value for the desired CO2 concentration. You should adjust the pH +/- 0.1 by
appropriately regulating the bubble count.
Example: Carbonate hardness 4 °d, desired CO2 content 20 mg/l = recommended pH 6.8

7 Care and maintenance
7.1 Replacing disposable CO2 bottle
• The pressure reducer can be unscrewed at any time – the bottle valve closes automatically.
• Screw the pressure reducer onto a new CO2 disposable bottle (see 4.1).
