6.5.5
Switching the direction of rotation (this point applies only to 400V
compressors)
6
DANGER: THE PHASE SEQUENCE PLAYS AN IMPORTANT ROLE REGARDING
THE THE POWER CONNECTION SINCE IT DETERMINES THE DIRECTION OF
ROTATION OF THE MOTOR SHAFT. THE DIRECTION OF ROTATION MUST BE IN
KEEPING WITH THE INDICATION ON THE PULLEY OR THE MARKING ON THE
FAN HOUSING FOR THE ELECTRIC MOTOR. THE REVERSE ROTATION OF THE
SHAFT MAY AFFECT THE FUNCTION OF COMPRESSOR!
Control the direction of rotation as follows:
1 Ensure that the pressure switch is set to "O" or, depending on the model, to
"OFF".
2
Connect the compressor cord or plug to the electrical power supply.
3
If the connection is made via a local switch, then switch it on.
4
Activate the compressor via the pressure switch and switch it off again
immediately. Turn the switch to position "I" and then immediately back to
"O" or, depending on the model, to "AUTO" and then immediately back to
"OFF".
5
If the fan rotates as labelled, the direction is correct, otherwise the two
phase wires must be reversed.

Initial commissioning
6.6.1
Before first use and every time you start work, ensure that:
 The electrical cables are not damaged and the unit is properly earthed;
 The shock absorbers and wheels of the compressor are securely fastened;
 The cables are securely connected;
 The safety valve, operation and control equipment are present and
are functional;
 In the case of oil-lubricated compressors: the oil level in the crankcase of the
piston cylinder is correct (Point 8.2.1);
 In the case of belt-driven compressors: the protective equipment provided by the
V-belt drive is mounted in place and secure;
 In the case of 400V compressors: the direction of rotation of the electric motor is
correct (Point 6.5.5);
