1.10 - Introduction
Congratulation! You have now in your hands the new high
resolution spectrometer Lhires Lite. We wanted to put in this booklet
material to help you using the Lhires Lite during public animations around
solar spectroscopy, starting from (easy!) setup to some workshop
proposals, including some theoretical & historical facts.
You will quickly see that watching solar spectrum in high resolution
provokes lot of curiosity from the public: it's beautiful and colorful
(scanning all rainbow colors) and it's intriguing (why are there black lines
crossing this ranbow?)... This is a wonderful opportunity to invite them to
think about the nature of the light, how stars (such as the Sun) work,
and
how
spectroscopy
astrophysists learn about our universe.
