Installation requirements
Risk of injury or damage to property due to improper installation.
Incorrect installation of the tumble dryer can lead to personal injury or damage to prop-
erty.
It is recommended that installation and commissioning be accomplished by Miele Ser-
vice or an authorized dealer.
The tumble dryer must be installed in accordance with all relevant regulations and stan-
dards. Observe all local codes.
The dryer must only be operated in a room that has sufficient ventilation and which is
frost-free.
The tumble dryer must not be installed behind a closeable door or a sliding door. The
maximum opening angle of the tumble dryer door must not be limited by objects or doors.
It must be possible to fully open the tumble dryer door at any time.
Hot water connection
An on-site circulation system with feed and return lines is required to supply the tumble
dryer with hot water as an energy source.
For sufficient protection against corrosion, the tumble dryer must only be operated with
heating water compliant with VDI 2035.
A detailed pipework calculation and hydraulic alignment of the overall system are recom-
mended to ensure adequate heat supply at the machine. This applies in particular when
connecting multiple machines to the same heating circuit.
An external circulation pump needs to be installed in the heating circuit on site to ensure
sufficient supply of hot water. The circulation pump must be selected based on the techni-
cal specifications of the tumble dryer and those of the on-site pipework.
Flexible hose connections that are resistant to pressure and temperature are recom-
mended for the connection of the hot water supply.
The cross-section of the free internal diameter of the connection hoses must be at least
11/16" (18 mm) so that the flow rate throughout the heating circuit can be maintained at a
sufficient level. If it is not, the program runtime of the drying process is likely to be affected.
A suitable control valve must be fitted in the feed line to control the incoming flow of hot
water. This valve is controlled directly via the tumble dryer controls. The control valve must
be fitted in the direct vicinity of the appliance connection.
An installation kit to assist with connecting the hot water supply to the tumble dryer is
available to purchase as an optional Miele accessory.
We recommend that shut-off valves are installed on site at the feed line and return line
connection points. Depending on cable routing requirements, the customer might need to
provide additional ventilation at the connection point on site.
Floor anchoring
Miele generally recommends securing both of the tumble dryer's front screw feet to the
floor with tensioning strips.
