In case of doubts on its functioning, contact your distributor for advices and rehabilitation if necessary. A summary table at the end of this manual of
instruction will sum up the essential informations about the chair and its limits of use.
4.1 Support belt
This adjustement as well as the use of the belt must be defined by a certified professional. Even if the use of the belt is not necessary, it is to be
noted that it is important to adjust and loop it to avoid that it lays on the ground or that it gets stuck in the spokes of the wheels. For a safe use, it
is advised to keep and loop the belt and pay attention to the fact that it is not too tight, in order to avoid discomfort.
4.2 Braking
See photo (G), page 2.
The brakes can be activated by blocking the bracket located on the top.
The brakes can be also activated by disengaging the lever (parking brakes) or by lifting it up see (1). The tension of each brake can be tightened
if necessary with the help of the screw located at the back of the chassis.
4.3 Stability in movement or stopped
Conceived to stay stable when moving as well as stopped, the stability of the chair depends nevertheless on keeping the gravity center of the
patient inside a surface that includes the four fulcrums of the wheels on the floor. The patient as well as the companion must pay attention to
respect this rule, including when they want to reach an object. Only the arms can be outstreched beyond the chair. The buttock must always
remain on the seat. Never lean on the footrests to get up.
4.4 Transfer
Equipped with fixed armrests, the transfer to go out of the chair must be done forwards while priory having blocked the brakes of the back
wheels. The footrests must be removed or folded up. Once the feet are on the floor, the hands can lean on the armrests or grab the companion
according to the level of mobility of the patient, to get up and reach the desired position. To sit on the chair, please lock the brakes beforehand,
remove or fold up the footrests and do not hinder the patients's movements. Lean on the chair to assist the movement.
In order to sit or go out of the chair, please check that it is placed on a plain and horizontal surface, without obstacles to avoid any risks of falling.
5. MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS AND DAY-TO-DAY ADJUSTMENTS
5.1 Maintenance, adjustments and regular control
As an essential element of security, brakes must be checked before each use in order to validate their efficiency to keep the chair still. The
adjustement is done by screwing/unscrewing the two screws that allow the slide mechanism of the flange along the tube.
The seat and backrest's canvas, once the chair is unfolded, must be tended. Never use the chair if those are disjointed, torn, or are at risk of
breaking. The armrests must stay clean and perfectly fixed on the chassis. The screws must be correctly tightened in order to safely use the chair,
without risks. They must allow the good rotation of the wheels.
The footrest's platforms must not present any cracks nor be broken. They must be able to articulate correctly on their rotatation axis. Once
installed, the blocking clips on each flank must keep the footrests together with the chassis. The footrests adjust in height thanks to the clamping
screw.
