3 INSTALLATION
3.1 parent unit
The parent unit is powered by 2 rechargeable batteries which are supplied with the
unit. These batteries should be charged using the power adapter supplied.
1.
remove the battery compartment cover (Fig. 1).
2.
Insert 2 x AAA rechargeable batteries into the battery compartment on
the parent unit, taking care to observe their polarities (Fig. 2).
3.
replace the battery compartment cover (Fig. 3).
4.
Connect the output plug of the mains adapter to the DC socket on the
side of the parent unit and connect the mains adapter to the mains
power supply at the wall (Fig. 4).
5.
The Low Battery/Charging LED will be displayed and charging will
begin (Fig. 5).
NOTE:
If no batteries are inserted into the parent unit, the unit can still be powered by con-
necting the device to the mains power supply.
Please always use the correct type of batteries: NimH AAA 1.2 Volts max. 750 mAh.
When the batteries are empty, the connection to the baby unit will be terminated.
allow the batteries to charge for at least 10 hours before first use.
3.2 BaBy unit
you can power the baby unit using the mains power supply or using alkaline bat-
teries. Even if you are planning on powering the unit from the mains power supply,
we recommend you insert alkaline batteries (not included). This will guarantee an
automatic backup in case the mains power supply fails.
1.
remove the battery compartment cover (Fig. 6).
2.
Insert 4 x AA alkaline batteries (Fig. 7).
3.
replace the battery compartment cover (Fig. 8).
4.
Connect the output plug of the mains adapter to the DC socket on the side of
the baby unit and connect the mains adapter to the mains power supply at the
wall (Fig. 9).
Use only normal alkaline batteries in the baby unit.

normal batteries cannot be recharged and
will damage the parent unit when charged.
