• The hanging scale is operated by batteries. Insert new batteries when using the scale for
the first time or when "Lo" appears in the display.
• Remove the cover from the rear battery compartment for inserting and replacing batteries.
Unlock the cover at the plastic clip and then lift up the cover.
• In order to replace exhausted batteries, press the plastic clip
outwards until the button cell is unlatched. Pull the battery from
the holder.
• Insert two new lithium button cells of type CR2032 into the
compartment, observing correct polarity. The positive terminal
of both cells must be facing outwards. Push the button cells
at an angle under the metal clip and then carefully push the
battery into the holder until the plastic clip locks the battery.
Observe the polarity markings inside the battery compartment.
• Close the battery compartment properly.
b) Measurement operation
Preparation
• Search an adequately sturdy hanging device for the scale. Such device must be able to
withstand at least the total weight of the item to be weighed.
• Mount the scale to the hanging device using the snap hook (8). Make sure the snap hook is
securely closed and the scale is positioned vertically.
• Attach the S hook (9) to the loop for the item to be weighed (1).
• Press the ON/OFF button (4) to turn on the hanging scale. The scale will be ready for use
after a brief test phase. Avoid any kind of vibration or impact on the measuring loops during
this test phase.
• Once the test phase has been completed successfully, a circular icon indicating stable
measuring conditions and the reading "0.0" will appear in the left bottom corner. If not, turn
the scale off and on again. Make sure the scale is hanging vertically and does not shake or
swing.
• Press and hold the ON/OFF button for approx. 3 seconds to turn off the scale.
b) Batteries
• Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the batteries.
• Batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long period of
time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries might cause
acid burns when in contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves to
handle corrupted batteries.
• Batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave the battery lying
around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow it.
• All the batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and new
batteries in the device can lead to battery leakage and device damage.
• Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire. Never
recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion.
c) Miscellaneous
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the
device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an
expert or at a qualified shop.
The maximum weighing capacity of 100 kg must not be exceeded. Avoid
temperature changes while measuring, as such could cause measuring errors.
