battery must be fully charged, which will take
about one hour. However, the appliance can
remain on charge for a longer period without
damage or danger.
If you experience a considerable decrease in
trimming performance, or if the indicator light
shows red, switch off the appliance and
recharge the battery.
- Insert the connecting plug of the adapter
into the corresponding jack on the charging
base.
- Ensure that the trimmer is switched off and
place it in the charging base.
- Insert the adapter into a suitable wall
socket. The charging process begins
automatically and is shown by the rapid-
flashing red indicator light on the charging
base.
- When the battery is fully charged, the
indicator light shows a slow-flashing green
light.
- Once the charging process is complete,
always remove the adapter from the wall
socket first before disconnecting the jack
from the charging base.
- While charging, the transformer within the
adapter will become warm. This is perfectly
normal and safe and does not indicate a
malfunction of any kind.
- If the appliance has not been used for a
long period, the capacity of the battery may
decrease by a certain amount. However,
full capacity will be restored after several
charge/discharge cycles.
Use
Cutting length fine adjustment
The cutting length is adjustable, from 1 to 3
mm, in five steps by turning the cutting length
control back or forth, as required. With the
control turned back all the way (the flat section
is visible), the cutting length is 1mm. With it
turned forward all the way, the cutting length is
3mm.
Trimming head
When fitting a trimming head, ensure that it is
safely locked by the locking buttons on either
side. To remove a trimming head, push it away
to one side.
3/6 mm and 9/12 mm trimming heads
The trimming heads provide cutting lengths of
3, 6, 9 and 12 mm.
Set the control in such a way that the markings
on the adjustment wheel are properly aligned
with the corresponding dots on the housing.
Tapered trimming head
The tapered trimming head is designed for
cutting the hair while avoding a 'stepped'
effect.
In this way, the hair above the ears is cut
shorter, while remaining longer towards the top
of the head. For the right side of the head, the
attachment marked 'Right Taper' should be
used; for the opposite side use the one
marked 'Left Taper'. Start trimming from the
back of the head and cut the hair against its
natural direction of growth towards the
temples, before changing the attachment to
trim the opposite side.
Operation
Before each use, always put a few drops of
■
acid-free oil between the trimming comb
and the trimming blade.
- Always start with the highest setting of the
push-on comb.
- The hair should first be combed, and then
generally cut against its natural direction.
- For longer hair-cuts use the push-on comb
or a normal comb.
- Cut from bottom to top with the trimming
comb lying against the head; lead the
appliance upwards through the hair, moving
it gradually away from the head at the same
time.
- For a shaped cut, reverse the appliance
and shorten the hair from top to bottom
without using the push-on comb.
