2.3.3 Cooling Devices

If your CERTOMAT ® BS-T includes the optional
refrigerator (UHK), no additional connections are
required. Any condensate produced during cooling
operation, will be evaporated inside the cabinet and the
humid air be exhausted via the ventilation of the
cabinet.
If your CERTOMAT ® BS-T includes the optional cooling
cycle (heat exchanger) (UHW) the inlet and outlet
connectors for the external cooling device are prepared
on the rear of the cabinet. You can connect your
external device via fabric hoses 15 x 2 mm. Note the
labelling on the rear of the CERTOMAT ® BS-T for the
inlet and outlet connector.
A laboratory cooling water supply should deliver
chloride-free water. If a FRIGOMIX ® R should be
applied at temperatures below +4 °C you can use
commercially available cooling liquids (if questions arise
on this matter, you may refer to the documentation
delivered with the cooling device or contact your
representative of the Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH).
1.
Connect the supply from the cooling device to the
connector on left hand (seen from the rear panel),
connect the return line to the other connector.
Carefully screw tight the screw nuts. Open the valves at
the connectors of the CERTOMAT ® BS-T by turning
counterclockwise.
2.
When filling the cooling cycle for the first time, it must
be carefully deaerated. The coolant should have room
temperature at this time. Open the coolant supply and
introduce the coolant until the cycle is completely filled
and the return flow is free of bubbles.
If a FRIGOMIX ® R is connected, fill the coolant into the
3.
filling port of this unit, start its pump and let it run,
until the return flow is free of bubbles. The filling port
at the FRIGOMIX ® R should also be filled. After filling
the cooling cycle is ready for operation.
