Dry ironing
You can iron dry with this iron. There is no need to pour water into the iron's tank. However, if the water is already in the iron, there
is no need to pour it out. The steam controller must be set to the minimum position as far as it will go.
The steam boost button functions are inactive when the steam controller is in its minimum position.
Steam ironing
Fill in the tank with water. Set the steam controller to a position other than the minimum position. Set the temperature knob to
"cotton / ***" or "max / linen" position. Start heating up. During ironing, water vapour will be extracted through the holes in the iron's
soleplate with the intensity set by the steam controller.
If even more steam is required, press the steam boost button. Do not press the button more than three times in a row. For best
performance, it is recommended to follow breaks of at least 4 seconds between successive presses of the steam boost button.
When the steam chamber is emptied, the iron needs some time to refi ll it. Pressing the steam boost button during this time will
increase the chamber fi lling time.
If the set temperature is too low, the steam ironing will not be possible. In such a case, an automatic system preventing water from
dripping from the holes in the soleplate will work and will cut off the steam supply to the steam chamber.
Steam does not escape from the holes in the iron's soleplate when the iron is placed vertically. However, a steam boost can still
be used in this position. For example, for ironing with a steam jet of clothes hung on hangers. It is not allowed to iron clothing in
this way on persons or animals. This can cause serious burns.
Spray nozzle
The iron has a spray nozzle that allows to damp the fabric under the soleplate. Pressing the spray button will eject a small amount
of water through the spray nozzle. Do not spray silk during ironing as this may cause fabric staining.
Automatic turn off
The iron has an automatic system to turn the iron off automatically if it is not moved for a while. The system will only work when
the iron is placed horizontally. The activation is indicated by a sound signal. The iron will be turned on again by lifting or moving it.
If the temperature drops below the set temperature during the period of turn off , the heater will be automatically started.
Warning! Do not treat the automatic turn off function as an iron switch off . Despite the activation of this function, the ironed fabric
can still be damaged. The iron is only switched off when the power cord is unplugged from the power supply socket.
Anti-calc system
The iron has a built-in fi lter that reduces the build-up of limescale in the spray and steam system. The fi lter is built inside the iron
and cannot be replaced. The fi lter is not able to completely prevent limescale build-up. Limescale will appear slower in iron sys-
tems if soft water, demineralised water mixture is used.
Self-cleaning function
It is recommended to perform the cleaning function every two weeks or more often if the water poured into the iron tank is very hard.
Fill in the water tank to the maximum. Set the steam controller to the minimum position. Connect the iron to the power supply and
set the maximum operating temperature. Unplug the power cord after the iron has heated up. Hold the iron horizontally above the
sink, then press and hold the self-cleaning button. Gently tilt the iron in all directions. Release the button after approx. 5 - 10 seconds.
Repeat the cleaning procedure if the iron is still contaminated.
Ironing advice
It is recommended to iron slightly damp fabrics. Ironing will be faster and easier. In this case, set the steam controller to the mini-
mum setting. Steam will come out of the damp fabric, not from the iron. This will save the electricity you need to power your iron.
The integrated spray nozzle can be used to iron extremely stubborn creases. If you need to dampen larger areas of ironed fabrics,
use a separate sprayer. When dampening the fabric, do not point the water jet at the iron.
It is recommended to iron on ironing boards and to use iron power cord holders if the board has such a function. The handle should
be positioned so that the risk of the power cord coming into contact with the hot iron is minimised.
Special care should be taken when ironing synthetic fabrics. Check the product label to see if ironing is allowed at all and at what
temperature. For particularly delicate fabrics, a slightly dampened, thin cotton fabric can be used as an intermediate layer between
the iron's soleplate and the synthetic fabric.
Iron maintenance
Check the iron's soleplate after each use. Allow the soleplate to cool down completely before cleaning. Clean the soleplate with a
slightly damp, soft cotton cloth. Protect the soleplate from scratches and do not use any chemicals such as dishwashing liquids,
alcohol, acids, solvents, etc. for cleaning. Do not use sharp tools, hard sponges, scrapers, etc. to clean the soleplate so as not
to scratch its surface.
Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean the remaining parts of the iron.
If the fabric sticks to the iron's soleplate during ironing, stop ironing immediately, disconnect the iron from the power supply and
