dust and fluids may be blown into the air. Remove any debris from the
tyre tread on the surface of the wheel. Wear protective eyewear with

10. Always carefully inspect the machine before using it. Missing, damaged
or worn equipment (including the hazard labels) must be repaired or replaced before start-up.
11. Never leave nuts, bolts, tools or other materials on the machine. These may become
trapped between moving parts and cause damage to the machine itself.
12. DO NOT install or inflate tyres that are cut, damaged, decayed or worn. DO NOT mount
tyres on bent, rusted, worn, warped or otherwise damaged rims.
13. Do not attempt to finish the mounting procedure if the tyre is damaged during the pro-

14. Inflate tyres in gradual steps, while continuously monitoring the pressure and observing
the tyre itself, the rim and the bead. NEVER exceed the pressure limits indicated by the
manufacturer.
15. The internal parts in this machine could create contacts or sparks if exposed to flammable
vapours (petrol, paint thinner, solvents, etc.). This machine must not be installed in a pit or
below floor level.
16. Do not operate the machine while under the influence of alcohol, medicine or drugs. If
you are taking prescription or non-prescription medicine, contact a physician to understand
the side effects that the medicine could have on the ability to operate the machine safely.
17. Always use OSHA, CE approved and authorised personal protective equipment (PPE) or
equipment with equivalent certification while operating the machine.
Consult your supervisor for additional instructions.
18. Do not wear jewellery, watches, loose clothing, ties and tie back long
hair before using the machine.
19. Wear protective, non-slip footwear when operating the tyre changer.
20. While positioning, lifting or removing wheels from the tyre changer, wear a suitable back
support and use a correct lifting technique.
21. Only suitably trained personnel can use, service and repair the machine. Repairs may
only be performed by qualified personnel. The maintenance supervisor responsible for the
machine must have appropriate and specific qualification. Before an operator may perform
a repair on the machine, the employer must determine if the operator is suitably qualified
to carry out the repair safely.
