TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Problem
• Can opener does not
automatically stop.
• Can opener leans while
opening some cans.
• There is a bump, dent, or
heavy seam in the rim of
the can.
• The magnet won't hold
the lids on some cans.
HELPFUL HINTS
• The motor of your can opener is permanently lubricated
and will require no oiling.
• To store the cord, push excess length into the back of the
can opener.
Solution
• After opening can, unplug
unit. Hold can and push
front of cutting assembly
to release the can.
• Hold large or heavy cans to
support while opening.
• Open the other end of the
can or start cutter just
beyond it.
• Cans made with aluminum
lids will not adhere to the
magnet.

HOW TO SHARPEN KNIVES
1. Place blade of the knife, near handle, in the knife sharpener
located on the back of the can opener.
2. Draw the knife blade through the slot about 20 times. Do
not use a back and forth motion. See Figure 8.
3. Place knife in sharpener from the opposite side and draw
through the slot about 20 times. See Figure 9.
4. A good knife should not need sharpening more than 3 or 4
times a year under normal use.
Note: Serrated blades should never be inserted into this unit.
Scissors cannot be sharpened in this unit.
