6. Maintenance
As a precaution, a monthly functionality problem inspection should be made. This
inspection includes:
Check the wheel wear.
Make sure the wheels turn freely.
Make sure the hand rims are secure.
Make sure the wheel locks work.
Make sure the armrests are secure.
Check if the backrest and upholstery cloths are intact and cleaned.
Check if the footrests work.
Test the effectiveness of brakes and make sure the wheel lock is firmly in
place.
Verify that every screw is tightend and tighten screws that might have
worked loose by adding threadlocker "LOCTITE" type.
Contact your Physipro representative if you need assistance. If a part needs
to be replaced, please look at the parts catalogue to make sure you have
the right part number.
6.1 Backrest upholstery replacement
To remove the upholstery, remove the bolts A on
each side with a 5/16 (8 mm) wrench.
Slowly tip over the IV pole and bottle support toward
the ground.
Also remove the screws B and be careful to not lose
the flat washer.
Slightly fold the wheelchair so it can slide easier. Slide
up the upholstery to remove it by the push handles.
Insert the new upholstery on the push handles, eyelets up. Align the eyelets with the
holes in the handles. Place the wheelchair in an unfolded position. Reinsert the bolts
A and screws C while not forgetting the flat and lock washers.
