CARE AND MAINTENANCE
• Keep the bowl 3/4 full of water to avoid pump burnout.
• Use this pump with water only.
While this unit can be used indoors, moisture will be generated in the
surrounding area. Therefore, use only in areas where water will not cause
damage to hardwood floors, carpet, etc. Do not use in areas with frequent foot
traffic, since the moisture will make floor surfaces slippery.
PUMP CARE
Always plug the pump into a grounded GFCI
receptacle. Run the pump in a bucket of water first
to prime the pump and ensure proper operation.
Always fully submerge the pump in water. Low
water levels may cause burnout which will void
your warranty. The power cord should extend or
hang lower than the wall plug socket in order to
prevent water drops from coming into contact with
the plug or electrical supply outlet.
Clean these pumps regularly to ensure long life.
Hard water buildup on the impeller will reduce
efficiency. The diagram below shows the proper
disassembly procedures.
WINTER CARE
In areas with harsh weather conditions, store this product indoors.
These units are designed for outdoor use during the spring, summer and fall months. Before
storage, drain the pump of all water. Store the fountain in a sheltered area.
The fountain will work better and last longer when cleaned on a regular basis using a soft cloth and
mild soap. At the very least, change the water often and keep leaves and debris out of the unit.
Avoid hard water if possible in order to reduce staining and paint discoloration. Fix small chips or
minor paint erosion using commonly available hobby paints (not included) that closely match the
existing finish.
TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
Pump fails to operate.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. No power.
2. Not enough water.
3. Poor water flow.
4. Blockage in the tubing
or pump.
5. Pump is "air locked".
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. Make sure the pump is plugged into an
operational socket properly.
2. Check the water level in the fountain.
Running the pump without sufficient water
can damage the pump.
3. Check the flow control setting on the pump.
4. Check the pump outlet nozzle and the water
tube for dirt and debris. Clean if necessary.
5. Plug and unplug the pump several times to
clear any air that may have been trapped.
