Set Up the Pull-Chain
5.1 Route the Pull-Chain through the Guide:
The pull-chain guide features a room-side passage and a window-side passage, each with a slip-opening for the pull-chain to enter.

5.3 Set the Upper Limit:
a. Use the pull-chain to move
the shade to the desired
fully-raised position.
b. With the shade at its fully-raised
position, install a pull-chain
stop on the first ball that's fully
exposed below the pull-chain
guide, on the side of the chain
loop that's closer to the fabric
drop, as shown.
c. Use pliers to crimp the stop
firmly around the ball.
IMPORTANT: The shade's
upper limit must be set so
that the bottom bar hangs
below the shade brackets.
DO NOT draw the bottom
bar up into the brackets.

Install the Lower Shade
Installation of the upper shade is complete. Repeat all the steps in sections 4 and 5 to install the lower shade in the brackets. If you are not installing optional Fascia, skip section
7
Install the Optional Fascia
NOTE: If limited top clearance makes it difficult or impossible to securely hook the fascia on the upper tabs of the mounted shade brackets, it may be necessary to lower the brackets by adding shims (ceiling mount) or loosening the mounting screws
and adjusting bracket positions (wall mount).
7.1 Attach the Fascia to the brackets:
a. Hook the top edge of the fascia over the upper

b. Swing the bottom edge of the fascia down under

hand. In that case, the use of a soft mallet is recommended.

7.2 Secure the Fascia:
a. Install a fascia securing screw through the bottom edge of the
fascia, and into the lower tab on the shade bracket.
b. Conceal the head of the fascia securing screw with a cap. Press
firmly in place.
c. Repeat steps a. and b. at the other end of the fascia to secure
the other end of the fascia to the other shade bracket and
conceal the screw.
5.2 Mount the Pull-Chain Tension Device:
IMPORTANT: This shade is equipped with a pre-installed pull-chain
tension device (meets ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2014 5.2.4 safety guidelines),
designed to secure and maintain tension on the pull-chain loop. For safe
operation of the window treatment, the installer must affix the device in an
appropriate location according to the following instructions.
Window Blind Cord Can STRANGLE Your Child
• Children can climb furniture to reach cords.
• Move crib and furniture away.
• Keep all cords out of children's reach.
• Attach tension device to wall or floor.
• Fasteners provided with the tension device may not be
appropriate for all mounting surfaces.
• Use appropriate anchors for the mounting surface conditions.
5.5 Adjust the Pull-Chain Length for Proper Tension:
a. Move the pull-chain so that the
coupling bead is positioned at the
tension device mounted in Step 5.2.
b. Measure pull-chain deflection at
the lowest part of the chain loop by
pulling any slack toward the room-
side of the tension device as shown.
Measure along the horizontal section
of chain. 1

maximum allowable distance.

d. If the deflection is more than 1

bead-links that extend beyond the
maximum allowable distance.
e. Uncouple the pull-chain at the
coupling bead and use the wire
cutter to cut away the number of

NOTE: The chain may be shortened
anywhere below and between
the upper and lower limit stops
(span represented at right by the

f. Re-couple the pull-chain at the
coupling bead.
g. Repeat Step b of this section and
verify that the pull-chain deflection

7.3 Optional End Caps:
a. Align the 6 tabs on an optional end cap with the
corresponding slots in the shade bracket.
b. Insert all 6 tabs and press until fully seated.
c. Repeat steps a. and b. at the other end of the
system to install the opposite end cap.
a. Allowing the pull-chain to hang straight down from the
shade, choose a suitable mounting location for the
pull-chain tension device. The tension device may be
mounted on a vertical surface such as a wall or mullion, or
on a horizontal surface such as a window sill or the floor.
NOTE: The tension device must be mounted at
the lowest point in the final pull-chain loop. Ensure
the mounting location is low enough to allow for
comfortable operating access to the pull-chain by a
person of typical height.
b. With the tension device positioned in the planned
mounting location, use the pencil to mark mounting
screw locations at the center of each mounting hole
(there are 2), and drill a pilot hole at each mark, if desired.
c. Fasten the tension device to the mounting surface.
NOTE: The tension device must be mounted to
blocking or other suitable structural material. It is the
responsibility of the installer to choose and install
fasteners that are appropriate for the mounting surface
such that the device will maintain proper tension on
the pull-chain loop at all times. (See Step 5.5 for more
information regarding proper pull-chain tension.)
5.6 Check Operation:
Use the pull-chain to run the shade all
the way to its upper limit, then all the
way to its lower limit. Repeat several
times, observing the shade's operation.
• Verify that the shade brackets are
securely mounted, and the operating
load is adequately supported.
Upper
& Lower
• Verify that the pull-chain runs smoothly
Limit Stops
through the tension device, the routing
guide, and the clutch.
• Verify that the shade fabric raises and
lowers, rolls and unrolls freely, without
interference by any object.
Tight
• Check for telescoping of the fabric;
some telescoping is normal, but
excessive telescoping may result if the
shade is not level.

Care and Maintenance
After a product has been installed correctly by a qualified installer, there is no
mechanical upkeep required. In the event adjustments or repairs are needed,
the original provider of the systems should be notified. All adjustments and
repairs must be made by qualified personnel.
