DANGER!
Danger to life due to loss of explosion protection
Non-observance of these instructions and their contents may result in the
loss of explosion protection.
▶
Observe the safety instructions in this chapter and further instructions in
these operating instructions.
▶
Observe the information given in the applicable type examination
certificate and the relevant country-specific regulations for installation and
use in hazardous areas (e.g. IEC 60079-14, NEC, CEC).
▶
Prior to re-use, perform a general check for external damage and
functionality!
▶
The permissible ambient temperature is -20 ... +50 °C (-4 ... +122 °F).
▶
Observe the safety instructions of the connected model CPH62I0
hand-held pressure indicator.
Check whether the classification is suitable for the application. Observe the relevant
national regulations.
For applications that require category 2G instruments (potentially explosive gas
atmospheres), the following temperature class classification and ambient temperature
ranges apply:

3.6.1 Special conditions for use
The model CPT62I0 reference pressure sensor converts measured pressure into an
intrinsically safe signal and is made from a tubular steel case. Its electronics are fully
potted within the case. The external electrical connection is made via a prefabricated
cable.
For the electrical connection between the model CPT62I0 pressure sensor and the
■
CPH62I0 hand-held pressure indicator, use only the original WIKA sensor connection
cable intended for this. This also applies to the extension cable, thus reaching a
maximum permissible overall cable length of just under 5 m (16.4 ft).
Special conditions for the use of the CPH62I0 hand-held pressure indicator must be
■
observed! See operating instructions "Hand-held pressure indicator, model CPH62I0"
(article number 11221801).
