General
These instructions are designed to give an easy step by step guide to
assembling the single tier RS modular shelving system. Please read
through these instructions thoroughly before starting work as good
planning will help to make the assembly easier.
The RS modular shelving system has been designed as a fully
integrated system. Each module is based on a 1m wide bay that can
easily be added to whenever additional storage is required. With such
flexibility a wide range of layouts and designs may be created to
accommodate the smallest workshop to the largest stores or office.
The system is quick and easy to erect without the need for time
consuming nut and bolt assembly. All the major components are
manufactured from 18 s.w.g. steel and epoxy coated in either medium
or dark grey stove enamel.
Site requirements
The proposed site should have a reasonably level floor, small local
variations may be accommodated by the use of packing shims.

The floor material should be concrete or any other suitable material
which can withstand the loading. The atmosphere and environment
should be reasonably dry to reduce the possibility of corrosion.
Fixing requirements
Whilst this system can be used without fixings, it is good practice to fix
it to the floor using suitable fasteners, e.g. Rowlbolts™ (loose bolt type
RS stock no. 525-341) and the fixing plates provided with the basic and
additional bay.

Tools you may require
Although almost all components either slot or clip together, it may be
necessary to locate the C.V. (centrefour vertical) or upright clips using
a screwdriver. Other tools that may be handy include:
