DISASSEMBLY, TRANSPORT AND STORAGE

Disassembly
Remove the mains plug and disconnect the connecting socket from the Power Supply to the
drive unit.
Remove the dispersion tool from the drive unit.
Remove the drive unit from the stand; if necessary, remove the vessel retainer from the stand
as well.
Transport and Storage
1. The device and its parts should be stored preferably in the original packaging or in an-
other suitable container, to prevent damage during transport. The best material to seal
the packing is adhesive tape.
2. Keep the device in a dry location.
Warning
Avoid shaking and shocks to the device during transport.
Dispose of used or defective devices properly in a collection location.
Separate recyclable material into metal, glass, plastic, etc.
Dispose of the old packing material in an environmentally friendly manner (material separation).
 Device does not disperse
o Check electrical connections (power supply system und power supply)
o Dispersion tool not inserted into drive unit up to stop
o Maximum temperature reached in drive unit, red LED goes on (see Service and
Operation)
o Rotor not mounted in tool
o Rotor sluggish (check PTFE bearing and ball bearing, see Cleaning and Mainte-
nance)
 Loud noise when dispersing
o PTFE bearing worn, must be replaced (see Cleaning and Maintenance, Chapters
13.2 and 13.5)
o Ball bearing in drive unit worn, must be replaced (see Assembly, Chapter 5)
o Ball bearing in sealed dispersion tool worn, must be replaced (see Cleaning and
Maintenance, Chapters 13.3 and 13.5)
 Attrition (PTFE particles) at bearing
o Tools were operated without or with too little liquid; clean tool, if necessary ex-
change bearing. Please note the immersion depths (p. 39).
If a malfunction occurs that cannot be corrected with the above instructions, please inform your
authorized Heidolph Instruments dealer immediately.
