Moreover, it offers a reclining position. The instructions for assembling and using the Comfort Base system are
provided low.
IMPORTANT: The Comfort Base system merely serves as an aid and does not contribute to securing the car seat in the
event of a collision.
IMPORTANT: When using the Rodi XP on the front seat, the passenger seat must be placed in its rearmost position.
The backrest on the Rodi XP must ALWAYS be placed in an UPRIGHT position. Remove the headrest from the seat on
GB
which the Rodi XP is installed if it is in the way. Do not forget to reinstall it when an adult passenger uses the seat.
Attaching the back support to the booster seat
Lay the back support of the Rodi XP on a flat surface with the front facing down (Fig. 2).
Slide the booster seat at a 90° angle into the hooks on the back support, as shown in Figures 2-3.
Rotate the booster seat downwards and under the back support until a seat is created. The hooks on the lumbar
supports will now fall into the openings in the armrests. Keep pushing the back support into place until you hear a
"click" (Fig. 4).
Adjusting the height of the headrest
• Grasp hold of the headrest with one hand on top so that your fingers fit into the positioning handle. Place your other
hand on the top of the backrest (Fig. 5).
• Squeeze the positioning handle and pull up on the headrest while pushing against the backrest with your other hand
(Fig.5-1).
• Once you have reached the correct height, release the positioning handle and click the headrest into the desired
position. There are 8 different positions.
Instructions for determining the correct headrest height are provided below under "Placing your child in the Rodi XP".
Adjusting the position of the shoulder supports
The shoulder supports on the Rodi XP can be adjusted into 2 different positions. Push down the positioning handles
on the rear of the backrest one at a time (Fig. 6-1) and then move them to the right or left until the stop (Fig. 6-2).
Now click the handles back into the locking mechanism.
We only recommend adjusting the shoulder supports on the Rodi XP if the space between the shoulders of the child
and the shoulder supports is smaller than the thickness of your hand.
Installing the Comfort Base on the seat of the car
Pull up the catch (Fig. 7-1) on the Comfort Base mounting plate while at the same time sliding the Comfort Base
anchor piece (Fig. 7-2) as far out of the mounting plate as possible.
• Insert the end of the anchor piece, as deep as possible, between the seat and seat back (Fig. 8).
• Now slide the anchor piece back into the Comfort Base mounting plate by squeezing together the catch on the
Comfort Base mounting plate and the hole in the anchor piece (Fig. 9-1). The Comfort Base should now be fitted
securely on the rear seat (Fig. 9-2).
If the anchor piece does not fit or does not fit tightly between the seat and seat back of the car seat, you can remove
the anchor piece completely from the Comfort Base mounting plate and insert it again upside down (Fig. 10). Next,
follow the installation procedure described above.
